Nick Jones is the Process Engineering Discipline Manager within the Technology & Engineering Company. He is responsible for technology deployment and technical support to ExxonMobil’s global manufacturing sites for refining technologies. His team is active in multiple energy transition projects for biofuels, hydrogen production, and carbon capture.
Nick joined ExxonMobil in 2001 after completing his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Purdue University. His initial assignments focused on experiments and modeling for new process development along with support to North America refineries. In 2010, he became the Environmental Engineering Section Head.
From 2012 to 2015, Nick was part of Corporate Strategic Planning as an Energy Advisor and was responsible for assessing economic and energy trends, emerging energy technologies, and related market and public policy issues around the world. He was also a principal contributor to ExxonMobil’s long-term global energy outlook and active in communicating with external audiences.
In 2016, Nick led the technology development for a multi-billion dollar capital project at ExxonMobil’s Singapore Refining and Petrochemical Complex. He was then Project Executive for a brownfield revamp project at the Baton Rouge refinery before assuming his current position in 2019.
