Júlia Kessler

Júlia has a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and a bachelor's degree in Food Engineering from the Federal Technological University of Paraná, in Brazil. She joined the Food Department educational board at the same institution. In 2019, Júlia worked as a research fellowship under the "Valor Natural" Project, associated with the LSRE-LCM Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal (FEUP). Júlia has experience extracting added-value compounds from natural matrices (namely, using CO2 supercritical extraction) and plant extract characterization by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Júlia has been working on her PhD thesis at LSRE-LCM Laboratory, producing new cosmetic ingredients from Moringa oleifera L. as suitable delivery systems using microencapsulation techniques. Currently, she joined the R&D team at BIOEFFECT (Iceland) as a visiting researcher.
