SBE Awards

The Biotechnology Progress Award for Excellence in Biological Engineering Publication recognizes outstanding contributions to the literature in biomedical engineering, biological engineering, biotechnology, biochemical engineering and related fields.

This annual award recognizes individuals for their contributions to the field and to the practice of biochemical engineering through their position in industry or academia as exemplified by Professor Wang in his 50 years of contributions.

The Society for Biological Engineering's Bailey award endowed by Cytos Biotechnology, recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of biological engineering. In memory of Professor James Bailey for his many pioneering contributions to biotechnology, this award is presented to an individual who has had an important impact on biological engineering and whose achievements have advanced the profession.

The June Wispelwey Fellowship is funded by the AIChE Foundation and administered by SBE. The award provides a grant to assist one scientist or engineer a year that will lead a project important to technical, business, or community advancements in the biological engineering field. The fellow would work with SBE to contribute critical biotech collaborations and/or enhancements to SBE’s activities. Applications for the fellowship will be accepted up to the deadline.
