Prof. Dr. Johannes Kabisch is heads the group for Computer-aided Synthetic Biology at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He is as well CEO of the Swiss start-up DNA Essence, which develops molecular food additives and successfully markets them internationally.
Prof. Kabisch studied molecular biology in Greifswald, where he also received his doctorate on the optimisation of Bacillus as a production platform.
After successfully recruiting his own junior-research group on drop-in biofuel production using microorganisms, he accepted an assistant professorship at the TU Darmstadt in 2017.
