Some heavy oils produced in Kuwait such as those from Marrat and Minagish Oil fields exhibit asphaltene precipitation issues which cause difficulties during production processes. Understanding the behavior and quantity of asphaltene deposition during the production processes such as EOR process depend on properties and phase behavior of the oil under the operating and reservoir conditions. In this paper some general data measured in laboratory for a live crude oil produced from these fields are presented. These properties include density, zero flash data, GOR, SARA analysis, bubble point which are used to determine the conditions that asphaltene precipitation in the field may occur. Parameters that influence stability of asphaltene in the crude are also discussed in this presentation.
