In this work, we demonstrated a novel method to prepare Ag doped graphene nanocomposites for antibacterial coating application. Novel Repetitive Chemical Reduction (RCR) Technique was used to fabricate silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) embedded on graphene oxide (GO) using single solution of GO and silver nitrate AgNO3 solution. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate was coated with a AgNPs-GO composite and its morphological properties, physical properties and antibacterial properties against Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) was investigated. The physical-chemical properties of the nanocomposites were examined by XRD, XPS and HRTEM analyses. Ag doped graphene oxide nanocomposites showed excellent physical and antibacterial properties towards E. coli bacteria on PET substrate.
