In 2017, 88.6% of the deaths in Mexico were by the health, access to medicines being one of the determining factors, especially in the economic aspect. The main reason that a medicine is expensive, are different ways to obtain the active compound and its purity, therefore the search of news methods or process that is more efficient and without environmental impact it is a goal for world health. In this work eugenol is the compound of interest by their features antioxidants, anticancer, pain relievers and antiseptics. Eugenol is found in some natural products like clove, however, this substance is obtained through conventional extraction processes among which are steam entrainment distillation, soxhlet method and solvent extraction which are not of all feasible due these processes could degrade the compound and it is got with low purity or toxic solvent are used. Supercritical fluids process is good alternative by their benefits such as high extraction capacity, without environmental impact, low cost and high selectivity.
According to the above, the goal of this work was experimentally determine the conditions of highest solubility of eugenol + supercritical CO2 and supercritical CO2 + C2H5OH using the isothermal-static-synthetic method (modified PvT apparatus). The measurements were performed at temperatures between 313.15 K and 333.15 K and pressures up to 25 MPa. The experimental uncertainty was determined for temperature, pressure and composition, and was: uc(T)= 0.02, uc(P)= 0.03 MPa and ucr(xi)= 0.0351 mole fraction, respectively.
