(512a) Flow Dynamics and Temperature Distribution of a Typical T-Junction Pipeline Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Research Interests ; Teaching Interest.

This research is based on an internal flow analysis of the fluid behaviour considering a circulatory system (T-junction Pipeline) with two inlets and an outlet. Cold and hot fluid enter through each of the inlets while the mixing and heat loss can be observed at the outlet of T-pipeline at controlled inlet velocities. ANSYS Fluent was used for the simulation of this investigation and validated using mesh independent study. The results of the investigation show that convergence was achieved for the simulation, 66% heat loss was experience at the T-junction with respect to cold stream and heat loss increased with increase in the length of outlet pipe.
