(513ae) Electrochemical CO2 Conversion in Molten Carbonate Salts: The Good, the Bad, and the Unknown

This talk will highlight the potential for molten salts to address many of the persistent key challenges in electrochemical CO₂ conversion. The main differences in the reaction environment compared to aqueous and non-aqueous electrochemical CO₂ reduction will be discussed. Our efforts into realizing a working, high-temperature reaction cell in our group will be presented. Finally, our perspectives on the outstanding challenges to be solved in molten salt electrochemistry for CO₂ conversion will be presented.
