As the desire to respond to climate change has grown stronger, chemical companies have evaluated various ways to address CO2 emissions. This talk will discuss how we used basic thermodynamic analyses to shape our thinking on what kind of projects could have a positive impact on greenhouse gas emissions, and how this affected SABICâs research portfolio. Weâll also use this story as an example of how thinking about problems from the perspective of thermodynamics can help bring clarity to complicated subjects and how we can help researchers take advantage of the tools that are available to them.
