(260g) Comings and Goings of Research and Education in Flow at Small Reynolds Numbers

Davis, R. - Presenter, University of Colorado Boulder
In this brief talk, I'll summarize a few research themes from my early days (the "comings") of research on flows at small Reynolds numbers, and then describe how my group has returned to these themes (the "goings") in more recent years. The themes include sedimentation and aggregation of small particles, elastohydrodynamic collisions of wet particles, and drop interactions and deformation. In recognition of the Warren K. Lewis Award in Chemical Engineering Education from AIChE, I will also say a few words about the privilege of contributing to the education of students in the course of this research.
