(4gt) Rationally Designed and Nanoengineered Functional Materials to Address Future Needs

Authors

Mosleh, I. - Presenter, Cornell University
Research Interests:

1. Fabrication of high crystalline covalent organic frameworks for separation and energy storage/conversion

2. Design of functional bio-directed nanomaterials for water treatment

3. Exploiting biomolecular techniques to modify proteins and peptides as templated for nanoparticles synthesis

Although nanomaterial have earned significant interest in different applications, the design of functional nanomaterials for specific applications needs to be more investigated. Functional nanomaterials including organic and inorganic structures can be utilized to solve societal challenges and environmental concerns. We develop functional materials including covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and atomically architectured bio-templated nanomaterials. The use of such precisely designed materials will be explored in catalysis, separation, and energy storage/conversion applications.
