(659g) Research Interests in Biochemical Systems Engineering

As a biochemical systems engineer with experience in biotherapeutics, biomaterials and bioproducts, my research interests are in the areas of analytical method development, materials characterization and systems engineering. Specifically, I am interested in chemical processes for the production of biotherapeutic proteins, carbon-based biomaterials, and algae-based products. This work shows examples on how systems engineering tools can be applied to reduce costs in chemical process development projects in the agriculture, forestry and aquaculture sectors. These examples offer opportunities on the applications of systems engineering and chemical engineering.
