During the last few decades because of the simplicity and convenience of plastic in the packaging industry, the use of plastic has increased exponentially, creating an environmental danger. Today, various waste plastic consumption and recycling methods are being employed across the world. The current research addresses catalytic conversion of polyethylene and polypropylene, an extensively utilized polymer as well as a major waste generating element. The current paper also discusses and contrasts the various conversion processes used by researchers, such as thermal degradation and co-pyrolysis, with the catalytic process. In the aforementioned procedures, the effect of many factors such as reaction temperature, residence duration, plastic size, catalyst/plastic weight ratio, and reactor size on fuel properties of obtained liquid has been addressed.
