In past decade there has been interest in pharmaceutical industry on development of continuous hydrogenation processes. In this work lab scale development of continuous hydrogenation process in trickle bed reactor and scale up to pilot scale is described. Fit for purpose kinetic model is developed for scale-up in GMP-setting, implementation of online HPLC for reaction monitoring, and consideration of equipment to operate in class-1 division-2 area would be discussed.
