This lack of representation of Black, Hispanic/Latino/a, and Indigenous faculty researchers creates a significant burden for the US scientific enterprise both in our ability to generate science and technology that works for all Americans and our global competitiveness, which I will motivate with my academic journey and research at the University of Michigan.
