(664f) Vapor Biomarker Analysis for Precision Healthcare: From Benchtop to Wearable

Authors

Fan, X. - Presenter, University of Missouri
In this presentation, I will first discuss vapor detection technologies that are commonly used, especially, gas chromatography (GC). Then I will discuss various micro-GC technologies developed in our lab, including both components like micro-thermal injectors, micro-columns, and micro-photoionization detectors, etc., and systems such as one-dimensional GC and two-dimensional GC. Finally, I will talk about how to move vapor analysis from benchtop to portable and even wearable for breath and body odor analysis. A few biomedical applications that use breath analysis will be described, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), asthma, and COVID-19.
