(85b) Tray Design, Operation, and Troubleshooting

Unlike packings, trays have a multitude of mechanical design parameters and degrees of freedom. Given the same column operating conditions, five tray subject matter experts will present you with five different “optimum” designs. This presentation will discuss interesting design parameters and performance characteristics of trays over a wide range of applications and operating conditions. The presentation will also cover troubleshooting techniques and unexpected findings.
