Best practices and current trends in building academic networks of support for LGBTQ+ chemical engineers, at four levels: • among department heads who are taking up allyship for LGBTQ+ faculty and staff (panelist: Prof. Jeff Gray, Johns Hopkins - who has organized the AIChE National Diversity and Equity Workshop for chemical engineering department heads); • among faculty and staff who are taking up allyship for LGBTQ+ students (panelist: Prof. Stephanie Farrell, Rowan University- who has organized a network of engineering faculty in the American Society of Engineering Education), • among students who are peer mentoring other students (panelist: PhD candidate Alyssa Grube, U. Nebraska Lincoln - who has studied networks, representation and encouragement among engineering students) • among employees in a large company environment (panellist - Bev Douglas (BASF) will join us as a panelist to highlight lessons for a thriving Employee Resource Group)
