Division Plenary: In Memoriam — Dr. Douglas E. Leng (Invited Talks)

This is a special session of invited talks and tributes in honor of Dr. Douglas E. Leng, who passed away on March 20, 2022. He was a member of the North American Mixing Forum (NAMF) community and the recipient of the 1995 NAMF Award for Excellence and Sustained Contributions to Mixing Research and Practice. Dr. Leng had a long, successful career at The Dow Chemical Company, retiring in 1996 as one of its top scientists. Perhaps his greatest legacy was in establishing the Fluid Mechanics & Mixing capability at Dow which touched almost every chemical process developed in the company. In addition to solving some really difficult problems, Doug was devoted to mentoring countless young scientists. He was also a contributing author of The Handbook of Industrial Mixing: Science and Practice, published by the North American Mixing Forum, and Albright's Chemical Engineering Handbook.
