Low-dimensional (0D, 1D, and 2D) materials play a key role in energy generation, storage, and conversion, stemming from the unique quantum confinement and transport effects. The emerging properties of hetero-structured and asymmetric nanomaterials have direct implications in these fields due to their electronic structure and chemical properties. At the same time, the ability to systematically control the "bulk" and interfacial strain is a key challenge with these materials that requires systematic engineering of the synthesis/fabrication process. As such, this session focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of low-dimensional materials. Abstracts covering perovskites/Janus materials and their applications are of interest.
