Over his highly productive career Professor Ramkrishna has pursued pioneering mathematical modeling and analysis in a number of areas of importance to the pharmaceutical industry. This body of innovative research, which has motivated and stimulated numerous research efforts across our discipline, has included multidimensional population balance modeling, cybernetic modeling of bioreaction networks, stochastic and probabilistic modeling, and pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic modeling. In this presentation we will outline several applications of these modeling concepts that have drawn inspiration from his research, all of which have been carried out by the Purdue faculty team focused on pharmaceutical engineering developments.
