Mohite, A. - Presenter, Rice University
This presentation will cover three main areas of clean energy generation and conversion to value-added products. First, it will delve into efforts concerning the creation of high-efficiency, solution-processed perovskite solar cells. Here the primary focus has been on achieving stability that meets commercial standards, a significant hurdle thus far impeding widespread commercialization. The second portion of the presentation will include initiatives aimed at utilizing these solar cells for producing green hydrogen at a cost ranging from $1 to $2 per kilogram, accompanied by a thorough techno-economic evaluation. Lastly, the talk will introduce a new ongoing project, which entails the conversion of carbon dioxide and methane to value-added products through the application of innovative plasma chemistry techniques at scale.
