Rising Stars in Industry (Invited Talks)
Sunday, October 27, 2024 - 4:30pm to 4:50pm
In this talk, my academic and industrial journey to develop optically functional materials will be
described. My industrial research career began by joining Samsung Electronics after obtaining M.S./B.S.
degrees, where we developed highly efficient and stable Cd-free quantum dots for display applications.
This experience motivated me to learn more about polymer nanocomposites through Ph.D. training,
developing light-responsive actuators and emissive nanocomposites. Since graduation, I started an
industrial researcher career at 3M to develop various functional adhesives with engineered viscoelastic
properties. (e.g. optically clear adhesive) I will share my perspectives of this career development with
technical details of intriguing scientific challenges.
