Research Interests My research interests focus on the field of molten salt chemistry for advanced nuclear reactor applications. My current experimental directions of actinide and beryllium containing chloride and fluoride salts include thermophysical property measurement for fundamental understanding of salt structure and sensitivity measurement to observe how added solutes such as fission, redox, and environmental products can affect salt behavior for reactor safety applications. Specifically, I measure the viscosity, density, thermal expansion using a rheometer, high temperature ovens, and neutron & x-ray diffraction.
