Topical Conference: Green Hydrogen Production
Green Hydrogen Production II
Tuesday, October 29, 2024 - 4:06pm to 4:24pm
UK-HyRES is the flagship UK hub which aims to identify, prioritise and solve research challenges in hydrogen and alternative liquid fuels. The presentation will give an overview of the UK landscape in hydrogen research and demonstrators, then will go into detail of projects within the HyRES hub. The UK-HyRES hub is structured with four technical themes (production, storage & distribution, end use and alternative fuels) and four cross-cutting themes (economic, environmental, social and safety). Initial projects include hydrogen storage materials, particularly aimed at aviation, the electrochemical production of green ammonia and a comparison of electrolyser technologies. The first hub flexi fun call attracted 160 unique Expressions of Interest, totalling over £40m, all of which aimed to address identified priorities. This highlights the growing interest and need for research within the hydrogen and alternative liquid fuels space.
