Electrochemical carbon dioxide conversion to valuable chemicals and fuels has been widely recognized as a promising approach for chemical manufacturing decarbonization. While extensive research and development has been focused on catalytic materials design, there are challenges beyond the level of catalysts for the successful scaling up and deployment of this technology. In this talk, I will use some examples to discuss these challenges and how we can address them.
