(735bo) Probing RNAs and RNA Binding Proteins in the Pathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease of the Central Nervous System that affects the brain and the spinal cord. The immune system attacks the insulating covering of the nerve fibers called myelin, causing inflammation and damage to the underlying nerves. Here, we look at these disease-causing RNA-binding proteins that are implicated in the pathogenesis of MS using computational methods. We particularly focus on the dysregulation of these proteins which leads to aggregation, mislocalization, and aberrant formation of stress granules.
