This study presents the development of a cost-effective automation system for the steam distillation process used to extract essential oils, utilizing Arduino technology. The system was designed to address common operational challenges, including maintaining water levels, regulating temperature, and preventing spills. Key components of the setup include servomotors, solenoid valves, various sensors, and an Arduino UNO microcontroller. Testing demonstrated improved process control and operational efficiency. The Arduino-based system successfully regulated the water flow and condensate levels, showing that accessible and affordable technology can enhance industrial processes, particularly in the context of small-scale or pilot-level operations. This project provides an example of how low-cost automation can optimize essential oil extraction processes, making such advancements feasible even for smaller operations.
