Adverse health effects of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) like perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) make their destruction imperative. Papers assess PFAS collection from processes and the environment as well as the science and technology of their destruction. This session covers many approaches such as hydrothermal, photochemical, electrochemical, and biological, with many generalizable findings.
