The nitrogen cycle links sectors from agriculture to energy and impacts both water quality and climate. New catalytic technologies offer an opportunity to improve nitrogen cycle management — this session focuses on catalyst materials/processes aiming to fix atmospheric nitrogen or convert nitrogen compounds (NOx/NO3-/NO2-,NH3, etc.) at benign conditions, including but not limited to photo/electrocatalytic and plasma-driven processes. Investigations for dinitrogen fixation using aqueous and nonaqueous electrolytes are encouraged, and both applied and fundamental studies are welcomed. Studies describing experimental results are encouraged to higlight the analytical techniques and testing conditions utilized, and both theoretical and experimental results are encouraged.
