Energy storage technologies are vital for cost-effective integration and utilization of variable renewable energy sources into the power grid and broader energy system. This session focuses on computational research advancing the design, operations and energy systems integration of novel energy storage technologies for grid, off-grid and broader energy system applications (e.g. electricity to heat or hydrogen). We especially welcome submissions that contributes towards an improved understanding of the landscape of long-duration energy storage technologies that complement existing energy storage solutions (e.g. Li-ion, pumped hydro).
