Leading Indicators to Prevent Process Safety Incidents II
Thursday, August 20, 2020 - 1:30pm to 1:50pm
Lack of visibility into the operations and maintenance of functional safety equipment introduces significant uncertainty about the safety of the plant. Tier 3 indicators can be considered as either leading or lagging depending on how the data is processed. Leading indicators of Tier 3 are key to preventing Tier 2 or even Tier 1 events. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are critical to show deviation from the design. This presentation will look at the most common inputs and their importance in maintaining a safety instrumented system.
