The coke oven gas to methanol installation has the characteristics of high temperature, high pressure, flammability and explosion. Once an accident occurs, the consequences will be extremely serious. Quantitative risk assessment generally adept the material state under normal working conditions, which was not consistent with the material state before the accident, besides the result was not accurate enough. 14 scenarios with the greatest risk had been found out through the combination of HAZOP and protective layer analysis method. And then the dangerous state of the material before the accident was determined through the process simulation of the high risk combined with the response time of personnel, which was done by the Aspen Plus V8.4 software. After that, the influence scope of accident consequences was determined by the PHAST software, and the quantitative value of the risk was calculated combined with the probability of the occurrence, which can provide the basis for enterprise management objectives.
