Continuous Distillation throughput can be limited by operational issues with product solidification (plugging) in interconnecting and downstream piping and equipment. These events, while seldom, have historically incurred high cost and lengthy timeframes to rectify â reducing unit profitability.
This presentation will examine specific operational upsets and the solutions plants implemented to eliminate or shorten future downtime occurrences due to plugging in tower bottoms and downstream lines . Weâll also discuss general heating system design objectives that consider upset conditions to prevent issues and guard against and/or allow for quicker, more cost-effective recovery from unexpected downtime.
