The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Virtual Work Environments
Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - 11:40am to 12:00pm
2020 required everyone to shift how they approached and implemented their work. Kitchen tables became desks, TVs became monitors, conference rooms went digital, and effective communication became more important than ever. For those of us planning to lead DHAs on-site at facilities, we had to figure out how to do this virtually...feel our way around the unknown during the unknown. This abstract will present the challenges faced, nuances learned, and the approaches used to navigate both. DHA considerations to be shared: Preparation, Getting the whole story, Sharing of documentation, Keeping the team involved and engaged, Timing, and Following-up. Rethinking the status quo improves processes. While we were all just trying to keep our heads above water, we stumbled across improvements that should be here to stay. The presenter will share the pros and cons of conducting DHAs virtually, the lessons learned along the way, and which strategies worked best to keep moving forward on all DHAs.
