ERS design becomes more complex when runaway reactions and two-phase flow are considered, but these are often the dictating situations resulting in the greatest emergency relief requirements. It is important to evaluate these worst-case situations to ensure proper prevention or mitigation. This workshop will cover reactive system relief system design basics and highlight the importance of two-phase flow. Example reactive system ERS design problems will be setup and performed using FERST powered by CHEMCAD.
