When you CARE for something, you would genuinely provide for its health, welfare, maintenance and protection one can afford. In order for one to exhibit the emotion of care towards an object, one must have something to gain from it or something to lose if it is gone. Either way, the action of care rooted deeply on the sense of vulnerability of objects and emotions of one person. The same concept applies to our process plant operation and maintenance process where it depends heavily on human to tend to its deviation. With the right CARE emotion and action, it can be a pivotal moment to prevent incidents from occurring or recurring.

Enlightened with this knowledge, CARE conversation was developed to openly discussed our Tier 2 Process Safety Event with a structure that encourages Speak Up from all staffs. The sessions are arranged in a way that the quorum does not exceeds 40 participants and with absence of respective superiors to encourage openness in sharing. It is the turning point for plant staffs including operators, technicians, engineers or management team to reflect and admit on management system gaps in the plant and how do all of the staffs collaborate in progressing to ensure no process safety events in the future. During the sessions, importance of process safety excellence are highlighted followed by a sharing on lesson learnt of a Tier 2 Process Safety Events in plant. Lesson learnt are also anchored on "Process Safety Golden Rules" which enables the staffs to triggered to a safe behavior during any occasions.

The ability for a company to admits the previous management system gaps and influence staffs for better instillation of Process Safety Excellence is how the plant can continuously operate in a safe manner. Furthermore, it successfully heightened the awareness on process safety and appreciation towards barriers put in place in making sure everyone can go home safely.
