Historically oil, gas, and petrochemical plants would revamp and/or replace turbomachinery in order to increase plant capacity or replace end of life machinery. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO) considers itself a world-class provider of brownfield equipment due to their vast experience, know-how, and custom-built design philosophy.

Recently many plant owners have started their investigations into how they can reduce the carbon intensity of their existing assets, as well as new grassroots developments, as “Energy Transition” becomes more mission critical to their respective companies.

Turbomachinery manufacturers have been receiving new study requests regarding low carbon and carbon neutral solutions. Specifically in this paper, we will highlight our equipment replacement and revamp solutions that can significantly improve plant’s efficiency & reduce their CO2 emissions by utilizing proven well-referenced turbomachinery technology.

As the result, plant owners can achieve “Energy Savings” by utilizing Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO) compressor & steam turbine solutions without having to introduce “first of its kind” technologies.
