The dissociation of COto CO is a critical step of the chemical looping process that utilizes two major greenhouse gases, CO2 and methane, with the solar energy. This study focuses on using temperature programmed reduction with various hydrogen/methane mixes followed by a pulse CO2 dissociation reaction to characterize and evaluate the synthesized catalysts. The pulse reaction activity and stability of catalysts are summarized and compared. There are different Ni loadings of Ni-CeZrO2 used for the study of activity, capacity, and stability for CO2 dissociation. Characterization of the catalysts includes surface area, oxygen vacancy, and catalyst composition measurements.
