Process Safety Management Aspects in Capital Projects at Vale

Electric vehicles will be dominating in future transportation market. Rare earth metals (REMs) are crucial to the production of green energy motors in electric vehicles. Recycling of valued-added metals especially strategic metals such as REMs is necessary for sustainable global economy in the near future. This paper will present our recent studies on REMs recycling from electromagnetic motors using REMs as permanent magnets. A life cycle analysis and a techno-economic analysis will also be presented.
