Understanding the operating parameters and their influence on risk is critical to the effectiveness of the Asset Integrity Management program. integrity operating windows (IOWs) link operating limits, with impacts of process variables to identify predictive limits that can be monitored and controlled, to reduce the risk. With the rapid growth of digitization, the AIM program leverages all elements of design, operational parameters, inspection, and mitigation records in an integrated system such as inspection data management systems (IDMS.)

In this work, an integrated RBI and IOW process is designed to prevent asset failure by capturing any deviations from safe operating limits on a real-time basis. The risk is then calculated with any changes in operational parameters and/or inspection records to effectively propose actions in reducing risk to its tolerable range.
