(90a) Improving LLM Understanding for Process Manufacturing: Successful Approaches and Lessons Learned

As process manufacturing industries begin to develop domain-aware LLM applications, users and developers may struggle with LLM understanding of technical and domain-specific language. The misunderstanding of uniquely identified entities and procedures will pose challenges to accurately retrieve relevant documents and perform general document understanding tasks. The Westlake Digital team has developed custom workflows and functions to augment user prompts to assist LLM language understanding and document retrieval tasks. In this talk, we will share our approach and key learnings on how to improve LLM application performance for operations.
