(9d) Increased Tower Run Length with Anti-Fouling Trays.

This presentation will discuss the various Sulzer anti-fouling tray technologies. It will describe successful revamps of a column prone to fouling and serving the purification of MDI, an aromatic di-isocynate that is used as monomer in the manufacture of polyurethane. Thanks to the implementation of high-performance anti-fouling tower internals, the operating run length was increased 1.5 times after the first revamp and then doubled after the second revamp.
