Process Safety Metrics - Learnings from Evaluating Management of Change Implementation By Performance on Process Safety Events Investigation

Vale S.A., a mining company, world leader on iron ore production is implementing Process Safety Management Based in Risk (RBPS) according to CCPS model since 2018. Vale recognizes that RPBS was originally designed for the chemical industry however also recognize that concepts are perfectly applicable to any industry with adjustments to the nature of the operations. Step by step and respecting culture development Vale has chosen 5 RPBS elements in which Management of Change of was on them. This work is intended to show learnings and experiences on developing the Valé´s Corporate standard of Management of Change and the work to develop associated performance metrics in special relating MoC and PSM incidents that had as cause an improper management.
