Engineering CRISPR for Rapid Nucleic Acid Detection

We aim to design and engineer a clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats-associated system (CRISPR-Cas) to perform ultrasensitive detection of nucleic acids. Our preliminary data has shown that our engineering has significantly improved the CRISPR-Cas properties. By conjugation with other biomedical devices, we aim to develop the next generation platform for nucleic acid biosensing, which is very important for viral detection, including COVID-19.
