Friday, October 2, 2020 - 1:30pm to 1:55pm
The presentation will discuss the current trend in renewable fuels regulation in the US and the importance of the Carbon intensity score (CI) for the renewable fuels. We will review various types of renewable feedstocks and the impact to the design of the technology with respect to material selection and requirement for pretreatment. The presentation will also discuss the reaction pathway and chemistry for production of renewable diesel and the required dewaxing to meet the cold flow properties. We will show two case stories of co-processing of renewable fuels and fossil feed in the same unit and discuss the required catalyst selection.
