To achieve aspirational goals of becoming carbon net zero by 2050 Industry and public will be going through an Energy Transition to Decarbonize. Industry will be transitioning from carbon intensive fuels and feedstocks to less carbon intensive energy sources and feedstocks. Industry must reduce Scope 1,2, and 3 CO2 Emissions. The energy industry will transition from selling hydrocarbon fuels like coal, gasoline, fuel oil to selling renewable power from wind and solar, Green and Blue Hydrogen, LNG with CCS, biofuel/ renewable fuels and e-Fuels. Industry will partner together in developing large CCUS projects.
This presentation will provide an overview of Decarbonization Pathways and discusses:
- Energy Efficiency Improvement in existing and new facilities
- Use of new Technologies which have lower energy and GHG intensity
- Electrification and use of Renewable power â Wind, Solar, Nuclear
- H2 as an energy carrier â Green H2, Blue H2
- CCUS â carbon capture and storage / utilization
- Bio fuels and renewable fuels
- e-Fuels
- Recycling waste plastic â Circular carbon cycle
