Coronaviruses undergo rapid evolution that has the potential to erode recognition by antibody immunity. I will describe the use of deep mutational scanning to generate large-scale maps of the antigenic effects of mutations. These maps are useful for interpreting the evolution of the virus to determine when mutations might alter recognition by antibody therapeutics and vaccine-induced immunity.
