IfS Community

There are a number of ways to get involved with the Institute for Sustainability (IfS). You can get involved at the forum level by becoming active in the Sustainable Engineering Forum. The Youth Council for Sustainable Development (YCOSST) offers hundreds of opportunities to get involved at the student level. IfS also has multiple organizations involved at the corporate level.

Biotechnology Progress Award for Excellence in Biological Engineering Publication

Award

The award will consist of a $3,000 honorarium and up to $500 to defray travel expenses to the award presentation, underwritten by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The winner will be expected to deliver a webinar on a subject in their area of expertise, or author a related topical or review paper for publication in Biotechnology Progress.

Nomination Instructions

Candidates will be engineers or scientists active within the areas of biomedical engineering, biological engineering, biotechnology, biochemical engineer and related fields. There are no specific geographic, membership or age requirements, but attendance at the AIChE Annual Meeting is a condition of acceptance of the award. 

Nomination packages should be sent to BTPRAwards@aiche.org as a single PDF document and must include:

  • Nominee's curriculum vitae
  • A list of publications the nominee deems worthy of consideration, published in the last ten years, that adhere to the guidelines described above
  • A brief statement (no more than 1,000 words) describing the impact of the nominee's listed publications
  • At least one signed letter of support 

Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Nomination packages remain active for two award cycles.
